A $130,000 statewide connected tv and digital campaign will launch today in support of Wes Moore’s candidacy to become Maryland’s next governor. The campaign is funded by the Maryland State Education Association’s Fund for Children and Public Education PAC.
“Educators were proud to be a key early endorser of Wes Moore in the primary election, and now we’re excited to make sure he becomes our next governor,” said MSEA spokesperson Adam Mendelson. “Wes believes that all children should have the freedom to pursue their dreams, and he’ll fight for strong schools in every neighborhood by hiring more educators and increasing their pay, expanding career and technical education, and providing additional support to struggling learners. Wes will create a Maryland where no one is left behind and everyone has an equal shot at success.”
Moore was endorsed by MSEA on April 2 at the union’s Spring Representative Assembly, which brought together hundreds of educators from across the state who were elected by their colleagues to vote on the crucial endorsement. In the primary, 88% of educator-recommended candidates won their races, including Moore, Comptroller candidate Brooke Lierman, and Attorney General candidate Anthony Brown.
