MSEA Launches School Funding Radio Campaign and Petition Drive
Campaign Raises Awareness around Importance of Great Schools to Families and Businesses
January 12, 2015: The Maryland State Education Association is launching a radio campaign and petition drive today, calling on the new governor and General Assembly to continue the strong support and forward-thinking investments in public education that have helped make Maryland’s schools and students so successful.
The radio campaign will run for two weeks on Baltimore, Frederick, and Washington area stations. The ad can be listened to by clicking on the audio player below.
“The high quality of Maryland’s public schools is essential to attracting businesses and families to our state,” said MSEA President Betty Weller. “I expect that at least 10,000 Marylanders—if not many more—will sign our petition to urge the new governor and General Assembly to continue the state’s strong support of our students.

Maryland’s public schools are among the nation’s best. They are one of the top reasons families and businesses stay and succeed here.
Our great schools require dedicated educators, modern facilities, small classes, and fair state and local funding.
As the new governor and General Assembly work to make Maryland attractive to businesses and families, the role of our schools is critical.
It’s not the time to do less for our students. We must step up and do more.

Maryland’s public schools are among the nation’s best. They are one of the top reasons families and businesses stay and succeed here.
Our great schools require dedicated educators, modern facilities, small class sizes, and fair funding from state and local governments.
As the new governor and General Assembly take office and work to make Maryland attractive to businesses and families, we should not cut back and do less for our students. We must step up and do more for our schools.
