ESP Union Summer Coach

MSEA is excited to announce the posting of the ESP Union Summer Coach position. This role is designed to offer peer-to-peer hands-on support and coaching for MSEA’s ESP Summer Organizers participating in the MSEA ESP Summer Organizing Program.
 
The ESP Union Summer Coach position is an 8-week paid role at 40 hours per week, $35.00 per hour, starting on Monday, June 23 through Friday, August 15.
 
The coaching position involves training and supporting ESP Summer Organizers to effectively recruit and engage ESP members and potential members throughout the state using the one-on-one organizing model and the MSEA ESP Bill of Rights. The coaching position will be assigned a regional turf comprised of multiple counties that will not be limited to their local association or home county. A reliable vehicle and a cell phone with app capabilities are required for this role.
 
Additionally, this position will also provide a scholarship to attend the MSEA Summer Leadership Conference (SLC) scheduled July 29 – July 31.
 
ESP applicants must have at least two summers of prior experience as an MSEA ESP Summer Organizer or a combination of at least one school year as an MSEA ESP Year-Round Organizer and one summer as an MSEA ESP Summer Organizer. Ideal candidates should be passionate about racial, social, and economic justice, be detail-oriented, committed to the labor movement, and able effectively coach and train other ESP Summer Organizers.
