Join this preview of MSEA’s C.A.R.E. series (culture, abilities, resilience, and effort), which explores strategies for bridging the opportunity gaps that have created achievement gaps. Participants will identify strategies for an asset-based approach versus a deficit-based approach to student learning. We’ll touch on research that shows how culturally responsive instruction leads to student resilience and motivation. Together, we will focus on creating a learner-centered environment to develop the various abilities of our students. Participants can use this primer to get a better idea of the CARE series and how they might improve their practice and impact student learning.
