This course focuses on strategies and skills needed to effectively build a safe learning community that fosters an environment of trust, support, motivation, and engagement. Implementation of preventative practices include, but are not limited to, a well-managed classroom with reduced student disruptions and behavior issues, an age-appropriate approach to behavior modifications, and a more positive and collaborative home-school relationship approach. This restorative practices course provides educators with a framework in which challenging behavior can be addressed in an authentic manner to bring understanding and make things right.

This course is free to MSEA members, and upon completion of all course requirements, certificated members will be eligible for two Continuing Professional Development credits through MSDE applicable to recertification.
