The challenges of the past months have brought extraordinary expectations, scrutiny, and pressure to public education and educators. As Maryland implements the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and the most expansive platform of opportunities for students, educators, schools, and communities in a generation, we must keep our eyes on the prize and lead with confidence and authority. MSEA’s elected leaders serve members as representatives by advocating before the State Board of Education and our elected state leaders in the General Assembly, and speaking up on the issues that affect our profession.
This year, active MSEA members will elect one (1) Treasurer, four (4) Board of Directors, one (1) NEA Director, and State Delegates to the NEA RA in Orlando, FL in July. The elected Treasurer, Board of Directors, and NEA Directors will also serve as delegates to the MSEA and NEA RAs.
Retired MSEA members will elect three (3) Retired Advisory Council members and Retired State Delegates to the NEA RA in Orlando, FL.
Aspiring Educators will elect a delegate to the NEA RA.
The NEA RA will take place in Orlando, FL July 2-6, 2023.
