Community Micro-Grants

150 Grants for 150 Years

Educators are at the foundation and heart of communities across Maryland. In celebration of MSEA’s 150thanniversary and the contributions that educators have made to their communities throughout the association’s history, MSEA is offering grants to members to enable them to further enrich and improve their communities via community service projects. These grants are open to all members, no matter where they are in the association or their careers, and are for up to $500 each.

Members receiving a grant are expected to share photos and/or video of the project so that awareness of your good work can be shared on social media and in MSEA publications. If additional funds are needed, MSEA encourages members to seek local matching funds, partnerships, or in-kind contributions. MSEA will provide grant awardees with a toolkit of materials, including items to help generate media attention and how to take good photos of your project.

Applications submitted by December 31 will be decided upon by January 31; applications submitted after December 31 and before March 30 will be decided upon by April 30. Projects should be completed no later than August 1, 2016. Projects will be prioritized which encourage local partnerships and engage other educators and community members.
